he Friends of the Villa-Lobos Museum Association was founded on September 9, 1987 at the insistence of the many people who regularly attend events in the mansion that houses the Museum.
The Association is a non-profit organization to promote and enhance the Museum’s activities, providing funds indispensable to the maintenance of its projects.
Since its founding, the Association has supported all the Villa-lobos Festivals and International Villa-Lobos competitions, the Educational Mini-concerts, the release of records and books, the production of CDs such as "The Rare Villa-Lobos" (released in 2005) and "Villa-Lobos, His Music, His Ideas", as well as the hosting of 200 musical soirées, all of which has attracted an audience estimated at over 8,000.
