ll efforts have concentrated mainly on preventive conservation though monitoring the state of conservation of the collections, the occurrence of fungus infestations, the attacks of insects and microorganisms, and controlling the temperature and relative humidity of the storage areas, sanitary treatment of the collections, handling, packing and storage of the collections and controlling artificial lighting.
Specific restoration projects have been carried out. Due to the lack of a restoration laboratory within the institution, this work is outsourced.
